Practical guide on the meaning of the icons

Learn the meaning of the icons present on the labels of our candles for the correct use. Create unique atmospheres and use the candles in the best way possible. Remember, it's the details that make the difference.

Lighting

How to light candles

Light the candlewick on one side and let the flame spread to its full extent.
The candle should be left burning from 30 to 60 minutes every time you light it to favour the melting of the first part that acts as a barrier. This will help to prevent the formation of “tunnels” and that wax residues remain on the edges. Moreover, when the candle is extinguished, this will allow it to cool down homogeneously and evenly.
 
The flame height could vary during the use of the candle, and could occasionally seem extinguished. This is normal: even in the case in which it is short, the flame continues to produce heat and its height should become normal again.
 
It is recommended to leave the candle lit for 3-4 hours to have the best consumption result.

Candlewick

Preservation of the candlewick

For the correct preservation of the candlewick, it is good to check its length: if it’s too short it can’t produce enough heat to keep the flame burning, if it’s too long it can start to produce smoke.

It is recommended to keep the candlewick length controlled at 0,5cm.

Fragrance

Preservation of the fragrance

If the candle is scented, it’s important to keep it lit for at least 2 hours each time to keep the fragrance alive and intact at each lighting.

This way, the combustion process is going to be complete and homogeneous. 2 hours is also the ideal time to allow the candle to begin to release its scent and radiate it in the room.

Placement

How to place candles

Place the candle on a flat and heat-resistant surface, and make sure that it is out of the reach of children and pets, materials that can attract fire, and other heat sources.

For your safety, move the candle only when the flame is extinguished and the wax is cold. Removing or spilling the liquid wax could cause the extinguishing or the damage of the candlewick, compromising the correct consumption of the candle in the future.

How to extinguish candles

Do not blow on the candle to extinguish it: air feeds the fire while the lack of air extinguishes it; secondly, blowing on the flame creates smoke that annihilates all the scent acquired in the room.

With the help of a tweezers or the tip of your scissors, immerse the candlewick in the liquid wax: the flame will immediately extinguish. After, bring back the candlewick in vertical position.

Following these simple steps you will not have generated smoke and the candlewick will be perfectly waxed for the next lighting!

Disposal

How to dispose of candles

When a layer of about 6 mm remains on the bottom, it’s time to stop using the candle.

Extinguish the candle and dispose of it according to the local disposal instructions.
